Halloween Hacks

Halloween eh?  Some of us love it and some of us just really can’t be bothered with the hassle.

Although Emma and I like to pretend we are social butterflies, its really just a big lie. We are the ultimate lazy girls!  So we decided to help all y’all lazy gals out with 4 QUICK, EASY and best of all CHEAP ways to look like you give a damn this Hallows Eve…You Are Welcome!

We certainly are not #MUA’s and we’ve definately watched a wee tutorial or two to get that strobing technique down, so don’t fret pretty girl…you WILL be able to nail all of these in MINIMAL time.

First up, a couple of cute animal faces that are perfect for work or a last minute party or even just to greet your trick or treaters!
We didn’t buy anything for either of these looks- everything was in our make up bag already, PERFECT!

Cat Lady

I started with normal face makeup. Ye know… The usual concealer, contour etc etc. I gave myself a smokey eye using a mixture of brown and grey eye shadow then created the perfect cat eye by exaggerating my winged liner, remembering to join it together under the tear duct.  If you want it to look even more catty, make the shadow a little darker and blend up towards the ends of your brows. I kept it super simple with a gorgeous glossy red for my lips and lind the upper lip with black eyeliner. For my cute cat nose and whiskers I used a liquid eyeliner. I cant tell you how easy this was and looks perfect with some cat ears to finish off.

Leopard

For this look again, I started with my normal base. When I got to contouring, I added a lot of extra bronzer around my hairline and temples to warm up my face and make my eyes stand out more. I pretty much do a smokey eye everyday anyway but for this I used some extra dark pigment and extended my eyeliner beyond my inner corner to give it more of a feline vibe. I outlined a heart on my nose with a pencil eyeliner and filled in with a liquid eyeliner, drew a line down to my cupids bow and filled in my top lip and voila!

For the markings it really couldn’t have been easier! I took a brown eyeshadow and made different sized dots with an eyeshadow applicator, went over these with a shimmer eyeshadow and did messy half moons around each dot. You really cant go wrong with this, the messier the more realistic!

For those of you who want to look less cute and a bit more Halloween-ey, we’ve put together these looks which honestly will take you less than half an hour to do…

What we Bought-

Fake Blood – Wilko £1
White Face Paint – Wilko £1
Black Face Paint – Wilko £1
Sponge Pack -Wilko £3
Liquid Eyeliner – Poundland
Black Brow Pencil – Poundland
Everything else you will find in your own make up bag!

Skeleton

This looks way harder than it actually is…..start off by using white face paint and a sponge and dabbing your whole face. You’re gonna want to layer up the paint to get super white, so I sped up the process by blasting my face with my hairdryer on cool set. About 3 layers will do and it’ll feel like your wearing a face mask but you’ll look super cool. Next I drew a wing from under my inner eye right out to the side of my head, I then did the same above my eye (Probs best to do this with a pencil eyeliner for control) and colour the whole space in with your liquid eyeliner or your black face paint and they eyes are DONE!

For the nose, I drew an upside down W and just outlined my nose and coloured it in, easy!

The mouth is where people panic with skeleton makekup but honestly it doesn’t have to be perfect to look striking! I used pencil eyeliner to outline some teeth out to mid way up my cheek, then outlined pretty much just a triangle at either side and filled it in with liquid eyeliner. Once you’re happy with the shapes you can fill any spaces with some black eyeshadow. It really is easy to do! With a little skeleton dress or even just an all black outfit, you will look AMAZING!

Zombie

I love doing zombie make up! You can be as messy and careless as you like and its pretty much impossible to make a mistake. So if your a bit ‘hash bash’ this is perfect for you.

I began using a sponge and white face paint all over to give myself a greyish ghost type look. Depending on your outfit, its probably a good idea to do this all down your neck to. Then use grey eyeshadow to coutour your collar bones.

Next I used a mixture of grey and black eyeshadow to darken my eyes and make them look a bit bruised and then used red lipliner on my waterline to give the effect of tired/sore eyes. I added black eyeliner and mascara with some water to make it extra black and kinda like old tears.

For the bruises on my head and lip I used the same eyeshadow as before and smudged it using my fingers then topped of using red lipliner smudged to look like old dried in blood. I repeated this at the bottom of my nose (yuck, nose blood creeps me out!!!).

I finshed of by adding the fake blood. It wouldnt be a true Halloween look without some blood, would it??

All you need now its a ripped, bloody outfit and maybe some creepy contact lenses and your good to go scare the kids trick or treating!

Happy Halloween!!

Love Emma & Kirsty xx
