Last weekend, me and my Tinder Bae -known from this point forward as Marc- decided to take a wee trip down to Landan Taaaaawn (yeah that was my London accent, and what?). After a spritely 4 and a half hour train journey (featuring muchos snacks and canned alcohol) we arrived : )
We Uber’ed (wanky , I know. Don’t even get me started.) our way to the Citizen M in Southwark and the fun times began! I’ll leave the in’s and out’s (waheeey) of that aside and focus on how PRETTY the hotel was. In true Citizen M fashion the lobby was deliciously decorated.
and the courtyard was an absolute DREAM at night time…
Citizen M is absolutely my favourite chain of hotels to stay in. The rooms are a good price, the decor is amazing, the rooms are controlled by a moodpad and the beds are XXL Kingsize and legit the comfiest beds ever! On top of that, they have bunch of free movies – INCLUDING porn (ya wee rascal) so check in, cosy up and have a rare old time ; )
Basement State- Broadwick Street
The first night, we went to meet one of Marc’s besties and I was ridiculously nervous (we haven’t met eachothers ‘people’ yet) but thankfully, his bestie is my new favourite so it was an amazing night!
Thankfully Marc had booked a booth so we got table service in a seated area- far away from the ‘Basics’ who had to stand ; ) I’d definitely recommend booking in advance if you ever fancy going!
We started off with some cocktails (amazing)…
and a trio of desserts- the Baked Alaska was to DIE for!
After much (not that much) persuasion I was talked into drinking wine for the night, which coupled with the black sambuca we spanked all night, turned out to be a match made in Heaven…Cheers bitches!
After countless bottles of wine and £80 worth of sambuca, we decided to call it a night…fun times had by all : )
Hip Hop Brunch LDN
The next morning we all woke up surprisingly fresh (until we remembered the £208 bill from Basement State) and got ready for my most anticipated event of the weekend. It’s only a freaking HIP Hop Brunch yo!
Hip Hop Brunch LDN happens every weekend at secret locations across the city and ALWAYS sells out (coz it’s awesome). Basically, you go, you eat, you drink (free cocktails between 12pm & 1pm) you sing hip hop karaoke and you dance about to the best hip hop tunes of all time! What’s not to love? Of COURSE, we paired our Pimp Juice with more black sambuca….
There is no room for shyness at Hip Hop Brunch, so get your dancing shoes on and cut some serious shapes!
They have a body artist who does AMAZING creations where ever you want…
And randomly…a magician! Who, in my sambuca state was absolutely mezmerised with…

Since we hadn’t had any food, after 1 shot and a couple of cocktails, we were absolutely melted again (cheap day indeed!) and preceded to dance, sing, nap in the toilet (Rob!!!!) and take an abundance of selfies obvz!
This was genuinely, the funnest day and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone! When Marc suggested it, I knew he was a keeper ; )
Franco Manca Pizzeria
So after Hip Hop Brunch we were all a little worse for wear, and decided to take a quick (accidental 4.5 hour) nap and woke up in a bit of a daze. Not to worry, there is literally no better hangover food (or any occassion food) than pizza…and there aint no place that does pizza like THIS place *swoon*
Holyyyyyy shiiiiiiit this place does good pizza! Its a treat for all the senses to be honest, behold….

By this stage in the game (11:30pm), embarrassingly I was done in. All the sambuca, all the wine, all the spitting game had me all kinds of tired so we said goodbye to my new fave and headed to bed.
Duck & Waffle
Located on the 40th floor in the Heron Tower, Duck & Waffle was absolutely glorious!
It’s open 24 hours but we went for breakfast, and who DOESN’T want a £14 G+T for breakfast?
Before you take your seat, the bar area is GORGEOUS! The views really are breathtaking…
The food. Oh my God the FOOD!!!! Marc opted for the Duck & Waffle and LOVED IT!
I opted for the House Breakfast and of course, loved it -check the curly sausage?!

Camden and Sightseeing
Our last day was reserved for wandering around and I was desperate to go to Camden to see the market stalls…

Camden is such a cool wee place. Totally rammed, totally quirky and totally a fun time! I literally wanted to eat everything (like, the food, not the clothes n that) : )

After our day of wandering we were totally wiped out, and pretty much slept the whole way home.
Till next time London, you absolute beaut…
Love Kirsty xxx
