Helloooooo sweetcheeks!
If you’ve been reading this blog for long, you may know that I get around (Glasgow restaurants that is- ya wee rascal).
Steaks and burgers are a staple of my diet and if you’re in Glasgow and want some exsquisite examples of either, I suggest you get yo butt to Cau. Follow me babes…
Opened not too long ago on Ingram Street ,CAU aims to capture the vibrancy and energy of Buenos Aires and as soon as you walk in you feel like your being welcomed by an old friend. The decor is sophisticated and cool- my friend Naomi banged on about how much she loved the chairs LEGIT 15 times.
Seated upstairs, we perused the cocktails menu…

I like my cocktails to be sweet and fruity so I went for The Cau Girl Martini and my homegirl Naomi went straight for the wine. We were going to the theatre to see Little Shop of Horrors and it’s always better with a little juice on, ya know?

This was deeeeeelightful! Everything I like- fruity, vanilla-ey goodness with a wee dunt of bitter from the rose. Perfection.
Unfortunately we didn’t have time for starters (dayum) so we went straight for mains. I’m a little under the weather so I didn’t want to waste a beaut steak on my sub-par tastebuds so I went for the Buenos Aires burger and holyyyyy shit was it a good choice! Behold…

This wee baddie was a dream to devour- sticky BBQ braised beef, Monterey Jack cheese, onion rings & CAUchup, whats not to love? I paired my burger with some baked sweet potato and spanked the lot in less than 10 mins.
The burger was sooooo tasty- medium cooked to perfection. The braised beef gave it some juice and the onion rings hit me with a little bit of a crunch. Delightful! The sweet potato was the perfect little side dish- sweet, herby, delishhhhh!
Naomi went for the sirloin- a wise choice. She also requested it be cooked well done much to my dismay- not a wise choice. I just don’t get it. Regardless- she said it was incredible! I will definately be back for a steak- medium rare, the way it should be ; )

Since we didn’t have time for starters, it was only fair that we squeezed in a lil dessert. The dessert menu in a restaurant can be super hit or miss. I am thankful to report that CAU’s dessert menu is a 10…there is something for everyone.

Naomi went for the Chocolate Brownie-

I sneaked a bite and FML it was good. Perfect heat, the marshmallow was melty and gooey and the ice cream was rich. Hot, cold, gooey, crunchy all at once- a orgy of textures in my mouth.
I went for the CAU Cornflake Ice Cream Sundae and I did not regret this choice one bit.

This delightful cup of carnage was just glorious. Cornflake flavoured ice cream, sprinkled cornflakes, chocolate brownies and dulce de leche. This sundae was a dream- when you get to the bottom (which I did fairly quickly) its a creamy caramel and conflake conconction which was honestly incredible! A definate recommend from me!
CAU was amazing! We settled up and reflected on the 2 courses of sheer perfection. Satisfied and happy we headed on to the theatre with our bellies full.
Oh and shout out to our server (and my former Bae) Marc for his exceptional work and perfect hair- ya did good homeboy…real good ; )
Book your table HERE, you wont be sorry!
See ya on the flip side baby,
Love KBang x
