Hi sweetcheeks : )
So if you’ve been hanging out with me on itskbang.com for a while you’ll know I love skincare…LOVE it. I legit will smear anything on my face if it promises wrinkle free, clear, polished, flawless skin. I mean who doesn’t wanna look like they have THAT snapchat filter on in real life…it’s EVERYTHING.
Today Imma let you in on my newest tried and tested skincare secret…but you’re REEEEEEALLY gonna have to trust me on this one. Brace yourself baby, we’re going all kinds of weird today…

So you may remember last year I did a couple of Skin S.O.S posts by Mizon- everyone’s fave Korean skincare line. (If not honey, here ya go! Save Our Skin; Mizon and Skin S.O.S; Mizon Bubble Cleanser ).
First up they gave me glowing skin with my sleep mask, then they cleansed and soothed my moosh with a bubbly face wash made of egg whites. For the past few months they have got me slathering my face day and night in none other than…..snail jizz.
Woooooah…come back! Stay with me baby, have I ever led you astray?
Snails have been used in skincare for thousands of years in loads of different ways and their ‘secretion’ is well known for it’s healing properties- the whole reason a snail ‘secretes’ is to put a protective barrier between it’s fragile body and the hard ground below so it DEFINATELY makes sense to me that it will protect my chops from the hazards of the world. You with me hon? Not yet? Ok…let me break it down for ya…
Snail spunk contains ALL the goodies for your skin- glycolic acid, hyaluronic acid, antimicrobial peptides, iron, zinc and elastin- all things you have definately put on your beautiful face before so don’t freak out.
The concoction battles pretty much all skin woes and as a girl who just turned 30- I also want to get TURNT UP on my skincare regime before I have to spend all my monies (as opposed to some of my monies) on botox. Here are it’s key benefits;
- Well known for its anti ageing properties- YES honey- it promotes collagen and elastin formation giving you beaut, bouncy skin.
- Supresses redness and soothes- struggling with uneven skintone or inflammed skin- the snails got you babes
- Hyperpigmentation- you know when you have a spot and the red mark stays for weeks/ months after? Not with this beautiful jizzy goodness on your face.
Now I have your attention yes? Good!
I bought 2 products and actually I’m glad I did as I found that with my combination skin, I preferred one for day and one for night- lets start with day yeah?
Mizon All in One Snail Repair Cream – Buy HERE
This big tub of snail spooge is the perfect addition to your morning routine and at 92% snail secretion filtrate it’s PACKED with all the good stuff.
After cleansing and toning, smear a little of this baby all over your face and neck and leave to dry in for about 10 mins before applying your makeup.
Beware- if you start your base makeup before it’s fully dry you’ll notice you may struggle to blend it out so please make sure it’s dry before applying.
If you follow my instruction you can pretty much skip the primer altogether because you are gonna have a moisturised and mattified canvas to work with- perfecto.
Like I said, I have combination skin- I really found that this keeps me hydrated throughout the day, my make up stays put and I maybe only do one powder reapply mid working day (mainly because I am a messy eater though). It’s a win for the snails.
Next up- Mizon Snail Recovery Gel Cream – Buy HERE

With slightly less snail secretion than the All in One this comes in at 74% and looks less like a pearl necklace when you put it on if I’m honest- so that’s maybe a win for some of you faint hearted babes out there : )
As it’s a gel, this gives alot more moisture and a not so mattified finish than the All in One- which makes it PERFECT for your night time routine.
After I’ve cleansed and toned I slather my baby face in this and God DAMN it feels good. Takes a little longer to dry but it doesn’t matter as it’s going to work into those pores all night and have your skin looking fresh, plumped and that skintone even when you wake up. I promise you, you will do at least one ‘I woke up like dis’ make up free, snapchat selfie with this baby. You FLAWLESS!
Ok, I gotta say this. I was extremely concerned about ‘how’ they retrieve this secretion and although I’m not a vegetarian or animal rights activist- it does matter to me if my beauty products are tested on animals and honestly I was a bit worried about the safety of the snails. After a bit of research I am happy to report that its harvested in a snail friendly laboratory environment- the snails are not killed, but um…’stimulated’ in order to produce the secretion. So kinda like a snail wank bank if you will. And Hey, let’s be real…a little loving never hurt nobody ; )
For the love of God though, please don’t cheap out and go trawling your back garden trying to ‘harvest’ it on your own- that aint cute.
So there you have it darlin, like it or not- the way to perfectly set makeup, and beautiful skin underneath is snail baby batter- slap it on and let the haters hate! TRY and tell me you don’t love it once you’ve tried it : )
See you on the flip side beaut,
Love KBang x
Oh and p.s- it’s not ACTUALLY snail ‘jizz’, it doesn’t make baby snails- I just didn’t want to keep writing ‘secretion’ over and over : )
