Sometimes you just can’t beat a bit of bbq. Smoked meat, dripping sauce, rich flavours and if you don’t need a wet wipe after, you aint doing it right!
Yesterday on a real dirty hangover I visited Dennistoun Bar-B-Que and god damn I was glad I did!

Situated on Duke Street (2 secs from the train station) and open erry single day it should be your first choice for drippy, messy BBQ good times. Super tiny but super cute!

So we get in and peruse the menu (pretending like I don’t google every menu before I go somewhere and decide what I’m eating hours beforehand so I can get excited about it…surely that aint just me, right?) They got burgers, they got the BBQ meats, they got veggie options and they have a solid variety of sides!
What they ALSO stock, is a wide variation of super stupendous, marvellously tasty and ever changing selection of imported juuuuuuice! I went for the Cherry Sprite (LOVED) and homeboy went for Mountain Dew-S-A (which kindof tasted like the best cream soda you’ve ever had in your face). As we quenched last nights wine induced hang with our fruity soda, we awaited the main event…
Ta-daaaaaaaaaa! Served up on a lil tray we got our meats and shared a side of fries (we asked for the campfire chilli but it wasn’t ready yet and we were in no fit state to be waiting around- but it’s definately on my list for next time!) The fries were lovely, seasoned with a little spice to give em a little kick to get those tastebuds twirling!
Marc went for the Brisket Bun- it has brisket (obvz), pickles, slaw and he added cheese coz he ‘doesnt f*ck about’ . This mountain of mayhem was a sight. The volume of brisket was incredible, the bun struggled to maintain its integrity under the weight and juice of the smoked dirty and delicious meat. It looked ridiculously good and he said it was awesome- I will definately be trying it next time!
I went for the Carnival Burger- butter, double cheddar and soft onion. I also added pickles (I am legit obsessed with gherkins these days!) and drenched the whole lot in burger sauce…
Apologies for the poor quality snap- you know me, usually I take my food photography V. seriously, but the wine, cocktails and shots had me under some SERIOUS pressure. But look at that DRIP *swoons
The burger was great. This might sound weird but despite all the flavours swirling in ya face you can really taste the butter, which is an unusually delightful creaminess in a face full of rich flavours- loved. The pickles gave it some extra juice and crunch and I devoured this wee belter in about 3 minutes. Absolutely smashing!
The burger sauce on the table is delish aswell, like Big Mac sauce but a little more pickle- perfecto!
Full to the brim we lemon wiped our messy faces and headed home for a well deserved, meat and wine induced nap- perfect Saturday tings.
For realz, next time you wanna get down and dirty with some in-house smoked meats, get yo butt to Dennistoun Bar-B-Que to eat in or take away! Check them on Facebook HERE and feast your eyes on the bbq-ey beautness!
See y’all on the flip side babes,
KBang x
