Sometimes there aint nothin more satisfying than some juicy ass fried chicken, amIrightttttt?
I stopped by Bucks Bar on West Regent Street in GTown and good LAWD I’m glad I did, get ready for some finger lickin good times baby…
Situated in the old Jacker De Viande *pours one out for our fallen homie (there bbq pork fries LEGIT changed my life) Bucks Bar has gotta be your go-to place when you want somethin a little more fancy than what the Colonel has to offer.
Bucks Bar is a rock n roll bar offering live music most nights- open mic if ya feelin brave- it has a cool laid back vibe and quirky decor

We sat down and ordered some drinks (I was driving, booo!) the cocktail list looks good and they do shooters for 2 quid so definately not a pricey night!

The menu is chicken heavy so if poulty aint your bae, this is not the place for you. I tried to keep it mellow and get the Southern Fried Chicken Salad Platter so I could focus on the list of BANGIN sides. Marc went for the 3 Piece Buttermilk Chicken. When our food arrived we realised we MAY have went a little overboard…
The portion sizes are great so as we dove into our mountain of marvelousness we realised that we were gonna have to dig DEEP to make a dent in this.
Another cool thing about Bucks is the hot sauce range- 50 sauces from all over the world with varying degree’s of ‘blow your face off-ness’
We took a small selection to douse our delights in and got crackin…

My salad was RIDIC. The biggest piece of fried chicken I have ever seen, 2 types of slaw and it was delish! Genuinely the juiciest chicken I have ever tasted, and sprinked with some chilli and lime hot sauce it was perfection!

Marc loved his Buttermilk chicken and tried a couple of the hot sauces to spice these babies up! The Magma sauce was legit so hot he had tears in his eyes for 10 mins straight. Im not posting a pic of it in the hopes that this happens to you so that your Bucks date can enjoy the show as much as I did. #heavylolzzzzz
And now, the sides *swoons

I’m not usually a wing girl, I cant figure out how to eat them and I end up with chicken ALL over me – not cute on date night! However I did eat one of these baddies and they are INSANE- so juicy, so saucy (we went buffalo) and probably the tastiest wing I have ever eaten- THUMBS UP!

The Chicken Popcorn is exactly what you’d expect. Glorious little bite-sized chunks of heaven. A solid portion big enough for 2 and I will be eating this on every visit- schwiiiing!

I think onion rings can be hit or miss, but these babies are great. The batter is thick and crispy which is exactly what I like, a perfect addition to any main.

Of course I went for the sweet potato fries, I love me some sweet potato and put chipotle dip next to anything and you can bet your ass I’ll order it- loved.

Last but definately not least are the Salt and Chilli fries. I feel like everyone has gone daft for salt n chilli things these days so these are a welcome addition to the menu- not quite the messy greasy rendition you get from a takeaway, a classier and more well-executed version- DELIGHTFUL!
They also do a dessert menu and I was FULLY planning on getting the Nutella Waffle but FML we barely even made a dent in our food- next time though!
So for all that food, 2 cokes and 2 lageritas it only cost us around £40- ridiculous! So this is definately the place to go for a dynamite feed and if you want some BANG for your Buck ; ) (see what I did there?)
Bucks Bar- I loved you and will be back inside you in the very near future.
Check them out on Facey HERE
Enjoy getting juicy babes,
KBang x
