Summertime Saviours

Ok, so summer time may not OFFICIALLY start until 21st June…but MY (it’s me Kirsty yo!) summer time starts in 5 days when I jet off on my first holiday of the year! Woohoo!

We all have our holiday essentials but I wanna share some of my ‘can’t holiday without’ products that keep my hair and skin protected and sexyyyyyyyy…let’s go!

Like most of you beauts, I LIVE for a holiday! Tanned skin, lazy days, beach hair, coconut scents, bare legs, laughs and making memories (some that I have to be reminded of the next morning) with my friends- every hour is happy hour for me when I’m on holiday ❤

Beach hair- every girls dream! If you’re anything like me, one thing I adore about being on a beach holiday is my hair. I spend my days in Scotland trying to make my annoyingly straight hair wavy, beachy and beaut; so on holiday I step away from ANY electrical products and just let this mane of mine do as it pleases! Air drying leaves my hair shiny and healthy with a tiny bit of wave but I still like to give it a wee treat….

Step up Herbal Essences ‘Hello Hydration’ deep nourishing intensive mask. I don’t use this baby in the traditional sense and I’m gonna let you in on a little secret of mine. Use your hair mask as a styling product POST drying.  I have long, balayage hair so of course it’s prone to dryness and split ends (aaaaah) after my hair is dry, I scrunch this into the ends and it holds my wave whilst protecting and nourishing my hair all day/night! It also has the perfect holiday scent! Perfecto!

Next is an all year round fave of mine but I especially rely on it on holiday…

Schwartzkopf got2b POWDER’ful styling powder. Ladies, we’ve all had a regretful ‘Dust It’ moment, but hot damn we can’t live without a little joooozch in our hair! This product is the perfect balance for volumous roots and 2 day hair. As with any styling powder, sprinkle it on the roots and give your scalp a good scrub with your fingertips! Its strong, but not so strong that you absolutely HAVE to wash it out first thing the next morning; in fact it gives you the perfect amount of oomf for your poolside top knot to look spectacular!

So your hair is on fleek, now let’s talk about that beautiful moosh of yours!

I don’t really like to wear alot of make up during the day on holiday- I want my skin to breathe and soak up dat vitamin D that I so desperately miss living in Scotland- HOWEVER- I also don’t really wanna dive about with NO makeup on as I don’t feel that confident without it. Sound familiar? Well fear not gorge…

These Maybelline Dream BB creams are gonna save your butt girl. Both contain spf to ensure you are protected and both give just enough coverage to fleek you out without caking it on! I bought Fresh and Bronze. Holiday Tip* I mix a little drop of the Bronze with the Fresh and it means I can change it up the browner I get- am I a genius? Yes honey, I am…you are welcome ❤

Confession time- at home I am pretty stringent with my skincare routine and maintenance however on holiday, I ALWAYS let it slip.  When I’m with my girls I am having wayyyyyy to much fun to care and generally we’ll roll in the door at 5am and all crumple into a heap of hair and limbs on top of eachother- makeup still firmly on! Don’t fret though, I’ve found you the face wipe to beat them all babes…

Johnsons face care ‘Makeup Be Gone’ wipes are my all time fave wipe. They have a bunch of different kinds and are usually on offer in Superdrug or even your supermarket. They are soooo good. I’m not usually a fan of the word ‘moist’ but baby, they are so moist and filled with goodness that your face will feel so dreamy after you wipe away last nights fun time face! They’ll leave you feeling fresh and ready to seize the day and see that hangover on it’s way!

So there you have it my beauts- 4 products to keep you fresh and of course on fleek on holiday!

Happy summer holiday when it comes babes,

Love Kirsty x
