KBang goes Cavegirl; Paleo Power

If you’ve been reading this blog for a while you’ll know that I LOVE my food. Burgers, pizzas, steaks- the lot, I LOVE IT. 

Last week I stumbled on a way to eat delicious food, shed pounds, beat the bloat and feel better than I EVER have. In the 5 days I’ve been doing it its completely changed my life and I wanna share it with you babes…

I’m not someone who eats very well historically.  Yeah I eat alot of fruit and veg, but sit a caloriffic burger or a Two for Tuesdays in front of me and you bet your ass I’m gonna clear that plate (or brown Dominos box) and not give it a second thought.

What you may NOT know about me is that I suffer from a horrendous – still undiagnosed stomach issue that means on a daily basis, I have nausea, bloating and pain so bad that I can’t even stand up. I spend alot of time in work laying on the first aid bed, trying to wait it out till I can stand up and get on with my shift- it’s not ideal.  I’ve had tests, food diaries, scans- the lot- no- one knows whats wrong with me.

What you may also know about me is that I enjoy a holiday- and aint nobody lookin cute in a bikini when their bloating is so bad that they look like a hunched back pregnant lady- with Vegas on the horizon I had to make a change.

Last week I stumbled upon Paleo Pots on Facebook- the food looked DYNAMITE so I checked it out and did a little research. 

Paleo is also known as the Caveman Diet- no you don’t keep skinny because you’re hunting your own food, but in essence it strips back your food intake to the foods that aren’t processed, refined and pumped full of crap you can’t even pronounce to make it taste good- simply

I was intrigued by the health benefits but did not have a clue how to get started, so I ordered the Weekly meal pack from Paleo Pots (£90 for 5x breakfasts, 5x lunches & 5x dinners) to give me a kickstart and see if this was something I could enjoy without all the stress of having to shop and cook in a completely different way- and boy am I glad I did!

This genuinely couldn’t be easier- 3 pots a day- banged in the micro for 3-5 minutes and you’re done! Lazy girls rejoice!!!!! I couldn’t wait to get started!

The meals change every week but I recieved-

1- portion of 3 Paleo pancakes with blueberries

3- breakfast frittatas (Banana, cinnamon and egg whites/Ham, spinach/Ham, spinach , sweet potato)

2- Asian Chicken with egg noodles

2- Beef stew with cauliflour rice

2- Beef chilli with cashews and cauliflour rice

2- Peri chicken with cauliflour rice

2- Meatballs with a spicy tomato sauce and sweet potato mash

Now- I very rarely eat 3 meals a day (I’m a snacker) so I thought I’d feel awful eating 3 full meals a day- WRONG. I’ve genuinely never felt better. Let me show ya some of my meals…

Beef Chilli

This was my favourite! It is so filling and tasty I could literally eat it every day.

Peri Chicken with Cauliflour Rice

This was to die for- so fresh, again very filling and everyone in work was like ‘where did you GET that?!!’ because it smells like a dream! 

Asian Chicken with Egg Noodles

I ate this one on Friday night when I’d usually be ordering a pizza- I was not disappointed! 

Here’s what I got from my first 5 days of Paleo-

  • I did not snack ONCE (Not even fruit between meals, I just wasn’t hungry)
  • I didn’t cheat (even in 3 meetings with ALL THE CAKES- including Rocky Road which is my favourite)
  • I didn’t feel bloated once (for genuinely the first time in about 15 years)
  • Zero stomach pain (not once, NADA!)
  • More energy (I could make it through every shift without lagging- I’m a napper, I like my sleep)
  • Oh, and I lost 6lbs

I can honestly say that I have NEVER FELT BETTER. I would 100% recommend trying this out. Research it, everywhere you’ll read ‘It’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle’ normally I hate all that chat but if it makes me feel this good- count me IN!
Although it feels expensive, there are different options from Paleo Pots suitable for all budgets- I just went all out because I am the Queen of Convenience! I’ve already ordered next weeks meals and a bunch of Paleo cookbooks so I can learn the ropes. 

Now don’t get me wrong- I am still going to have the odd blow out- you guys LOVE my food posts and I love writing them.  But in the inbetween, I’m going Paleo babes.
